The Indiana Pacers have been on the verge of making the playoffs the last couple of seasons and they are hoping Darren Collison can lead them there this year. Collison put up great numbers when Chris Paul went down with an injury. Collison is a beast and will be great next to Danny Granger, however the Pacers need to make a big free agent signing or trade to be contenders in the East. Granger has been leading the Pacers and he needs more help to get them to the playoffs. Larry Bird has been slowly making the Pacers better and one more trade could get them in the playoffs.

  • Back Court:
Indy has finally found the point guard they long coveted for in Darren Collison. Collison can defend and is creative on the offense. Look for Collison to have a break out year this season playing major minutes. Dahntay Jones is a great defender, however on offense all he can do is dunk. Brandon Rush is still getting minutes and hasn't done anything except hoist up a lot of three pointers. Lance Stephenson looked good in summer league, but is a trouble maker. If S tephenson gets his head on straight he could be solid.

  • Front Court:
Danny Granger is a talented player and the leader of the Pacers. The problem with Granger is that he's lazy. Sometimes during games he gets 3 point happy and doesn't attack the rim. If Granger attacks the rim, the Pacers will have a solid season. If Tyler Hansbrough is healthy he could see major minutes. The Pacers need energy and rebounds and thats what Hansbrough brings to the court. Roy Hibbert has improved over the last couple of years, but doesn't seem to fit into Indy's offense. The Pacers are hoping Hibbert finally breaks out and takes a huge leap this season. Mike Dunleavy won't see major minutes, but if he's healthy will be battling for the sixth man of the year award. James Posey will bring veteran guidance to the Pacers and knock down shots. Jeff Foster is heathly and will give the Pacers another body to battle with inside. Paul George could be good just needs to work on his confidence and prove to the Pacers that he wants to play.

The Pacers will fight for one of the final spots in the playoffs, but will likely miss out this season. If Larry Bird can get a solid draft pick or free agent the Pacers could be sleeper team in the East over the next two seasons. They are one
