"Top 5" Highlights Brought to you by Youtube (Featuing Atlanta Hawks)

Thanks for joining me for the first ever column, “Top 5” which will show highlights and top plays from around the NBA past and present. I will show the best video I can find for a player or whole team and tell you why I picked it out of all the videos I seen. For the first column I will bring to you highlights from the Atlanta Hawks. The Hawks have been an overrated/underrated team for the last couple of years. When they are playing hard and hitting on all cylinders they are a tough match-up. The problem is that the Hawks rarely give it there all and it affects there playoff success. Last year the Hawks added the explosive Jamal Crawford and he instantly became the best sixth man in the NBA. This season there biggest addition was resigning Joe Johnson for the max money. The first video of the “Top 5” will be a team video and was made by ATLHAWKSJJ.

This video is a great mix of the whole Atlanta Hawks team in action. The soundtrack consists of “Welcome to Atlanta” by Jermaine Dupri and “Victory” by Biggie Smalls. The highlights are well produced and show all the key players from the Hawks. For all the Hawks fans out there this is a great mix to sit back and enjoy. Shout outs to ATLHAWKSJJ for putting this one together.

My person favorite Hawks video has to be this one. It showcases the real game of Joe Johnson. No behind the back passes or highflying dunks here, just great fundamental basketball. Johnson has never been a flash player, but he can light you up for 30 on any given night. Johnson has such a high basketball IQ, but people will still call him overrated now that he got the max deal from Atlanta. From shooting anywhere n the court to creating for teammates out of double teams, Johnson is proven NBA All-Star. The music for this gritty video fits Johnson’s personality perfectly as a cerebral assassin on the court. THIS IS FOR ALL NBA FANS. If you want to see a player who has all the fundamentals down, definitely watch this video. Great job on putting this together HAWKSNO1FAN. Johnson may be over paid, but he’s still one of the best players in the NBA.

3.                 Josh Smith Mix: Let's Get It Started

Length: 3:36

One of the most explosive and most improved players in the NBA has to be Josh Smith. Last year Smith became a solid player because he attacked the basket and shot less 3 pointers. Smith will continue to improve and hopefully one day will become an All-Star. If you want to see thunderous dunks and game changing blocks, this video is for you. “Lets Get It Started,” by Black Eye Peas was the perfect selection because of the energy it brings to the video. There are a lot of Josh Smith videos on you tube, but I choose this for it’s energy and flow. Thanks to TMACYAOKOBE0115 for putting this video out. I’m sure there will be a lot more Josh Smith highlights in the future and I can’t wait to see the videos on you tube.

4.               Jamal Crawford Career Mix
Produced By GCV23

Length: 5:16

The reigning sixth man of the year Jamal Crawford is highlighted in this video. Let me send a shout out to GCV23 for putting this wonderful highlight package together. Crawford has always been a nightmare for opposing teams because he could dribble and shake you out of your shoes in seconds. The one knock on Crawford was that he wasn’t a team player and couldn’t win. Last year Crawford proved doubters wrong by playing in the playoffs for the first time. The Hawks are a solid team who are a point guard away from serious contending and Crawford will be huge off the bench for them again this season. This highlight reel doesn’t include Hawks highlights, but it has highlights of Crawford from high school to the NBA. I picked this video because of the music, “Picture me Roll’in” by 2 Pac. Crawford can finally silence the haters he played in the playoffs and has finally found a role that fits him perfectly as a sixth man.

5.                 Al Horford 08-09 Game Time

Length: 3:54

For the last spot I debated between adding Al Horford or Mike Bibby. I decided on Horford because he’s the future of the Hawks franchise, while Bibby is on a huge decline. Horford is a true big man in the NBA who isn’t flashy, but gets the job done. Al has good defense, post moves, and rebounds the ball. “Boss” by James Brown is the perfect old school joint that caters perfectly to Al Horford’s game. Horford definitely has that old school rough, pound it to the basket feel to his game. Instead, of the flash of most NBA players Horford is a low post threat. This masterpiece was created by DIGGAMETIME.
