The Southwest division is stacked again this year with five teams who will be looking to make the playoffs. Dirk Nowitzki will try and lead the Mavericks to another Southwest division title, but a healthy Yao Ming for the Rockets will look to stand in his way. Look for the aging Spurs to cruise into the playoffs anywhere from the fourth to seventh seed. Chris Paul of the Hornets and Rudy Gay of the Grizzlies will likely not make the playoffs again this year, but could easily slide into the playoffs if someone gets on hurt on any one of the contenders. The Southwest division will definitely be filled with exciting basketball and questions again this season. Can the Mavericks carry there regular season success over to the playoffs? Will Yao Ming be able to play in the playoffs? Can Duncan and the Spurs relive there past and win a title? Will Chris Paul ask for a trade? Can Zack Randolph lead a team the playoffs? The Southwest will be a division to watch because every team is a contender.
