John Wall has arrived and the Washington Wizards are hoping he can lead them to the playoffs this season. A lot has changed in Washington, two years ago they were one of the top teams in the league. Over the last two years injuries, trades, and Gilbert Arenas gun have gotten in the way of the Wizards success. The Wizards are hoping this season everything changes with John Wall and that Gilbert Arenas is traded or plays well off of Wall. The Wizards have talent on the roster and I wouldn't be surprised if they made the playoffs this season. JaVale McGee's confidence is sky high after trying out and almost making the USA team in the summer. Andray Blatche played great last season after the trades of Butler and Jamison. Josh Howard will look help the team on the wing, while Kirk Hinrich will bring a veteran personality to the team.

  • Back Court:
In Washington the back court will be ran by John Wall. Wall will likely play a lot of minutes and if his jump shot improves he will be a scary player. Gilbert Arenas will start alongside Wall and be more of a spot up shooter this season. I don't see this working for too long, Arenas is a player who needs the ball in his hand. Kirk Hinrich might start at small forward, but will probably go to the bench and be the sixth man on the team. The team will rely heavily on Wall playing a lot of minutes and Hinrich will see more time at the two guard position.

  • Front Court:
The Wizards have a young combo at the power forward and center spot. JaVale McGee will start at center and will have a solid year playing alongside John Wall. McGee needs to improve his defense because he has the ability to block and change a lot of shots. Andray Blatche is a scorer and proved that last season after the Jamison trade. If Blatche sees a lot of touches he will definitely help the Wizards. Off the bench, Yi Jianlian will play and he also should have a big year. During the summer he played well for China and he should knick down shots on the pick and pop with John Wall. Josh Howard will likely start at small forward when he is healed up from injury and he's solid. Howard will get you points and rebounds, but they will need a shooter out there to open the paint up for Wall. Nick Young is the only real deadly shooter in the Wizards and he is streaky. If Young can be consistent and defend he could have a big season. Al Thornton will also see minutes and should have a solid year off the bench.

  • 2010-11 Predictions:
  • Center: JaVale McGee
  • Power Forward: Andray Blatche
  • Small Forward: Kirk Hinrich
  • Shooting Guard: Gilbert Arenas
  • Point Guard: John Wall
  • Sixth Man: Josh Howard
Bench: Hilton Armstrong, Trevor Booker, Lester Hudson, Sean Marks, Carier Martin, Kevin Seraphin, Al Thornton, Yi Jianlian, and Nick Young

  • All Star Player: John Wall
  • Best Veteran: Gilbert Arenas
  • Best Asset: John Wall
  • Best New Addition: John Wall
  • Key Player: Gilbert Arenas

  • Eastern Conference: 10th Place
  • Southeast Divison: 5th Place
I don't see the Wizards making the playoffs this season because they are two young. If the Knicks, Pacers, or Bobcats get off to a slow start look for John Wall to lead his team to the playoffs. Wall will likely be rookie of the year and Arenas will likely be traded by the deadline.
